OVERVIEW

Spiti Valley, with an average height of 12,500 feet above sea level, is a desert mountain which lies nestled between India and Tibet. With clear shinning blue skies, snow-capped mountains piercing up and turquoise green streams. this 10 day Spiti Valley and Kinnaur round trip on the Hindustan-Tibet highway and the Manali – Kaza highway is by far the most unforgettable drives you’ll take in your life.

The name “Spiti” means “The Middle Land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India.

Spiti valley is accessible throughout year via Kinnaur from Shimla route on a difficult 412 km long road. Tourists from outside India need inner line permits to enter Spiti through Kinnaur. Spiti’s border start at Samdo [74 km from Kaza] which is quite near to India-China border. In summer it can be reached via Manali through Rohtang pass and Kunzum pass. Manali is 201 km away from Kaza headquarter of Spiti subdivision. Due to high elevation the possibility altitude sickness always prevails so we take the first few days riding and acclimatising gaining altitude slowly.

Sarahan is small picturesque village in Himachal Pradesh of India. It is the site of famous Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple (Bhīmā Kālī), dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali, presiding deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr State. The temple is situated about 170 kilometres from Shimla and is one of 51 Shakti Peethas. The village is known as the gateway of Kinnaur it being near the old Indo-Tibetan Road

Chitkul (Chittkul) is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border. The Indian road ends here. During winters, the place mostly remains covered with the snow and the inhabitants move to lower regions of Himachal. Potatoes grown at Chittkul are one of the best in the world and are very costly

Kalpa is a small town in the Sutlej river valley, above Recong Peo in the Kinnaur district of Himachal PradeshNorthern India, in the Indian Himalaya. Inhabited by Kinnauri people and famous for its apple orchards.

Tabo is a small town in the Lahaul and Spiti district on the banks of the Spiti River in Himachal Pradesh, India. The town lies on the road between Rekong Peo and Kaza (alternative spelling: Kaja), the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti

The town of Kaza, Kaze or Kaja is the subdivisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the Lahaul and Spiti district of the state of Himachal Pradesh in the Western Himalayas of India. Spiti, which is a part of the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal, is a high altitude or cold desert having close similarities to the neighbouring Tibet and Ladakh regions in terms of terrain, climate and the Buddhist culture. Kaza, situated along the Spiti River at an elevation of 3,650 metres (11,980 ft) above mean sea level, is the largest township and commercial center of the valley .

Chandra Taal (meaning the Lake of the Moon), or Chandra Tal, is situated at an altitude of about 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in theHimalayas.[1] Mountains of scree overlook the lake on one side, and a magnificent cirque presents a view on the other. The name of the lake originates from its crescent shape. Situated in the Spiti part of the Lahul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh (India)

Day 1st: Manali

In morning we come to pick you up at the Kullu Airport or at the bus station and drive you to your hotel. Our representatives are there to provide you all the services and soon you’ll be introduced to the bikes and all details about the tour. Day 2nd:Manali- Naggar-Jana warterfalls

Head to Naggar and visit of its castle.The place is very scenic from where entire Kullu valley on both sides can be seen. There is a belief that the JagtiPatt stone, sacred slab of stone of the castle, rescues the local people against all ill effects.
After the visit we follow our trip towards Jana and its beautiful natural waterfall. There we’ll taste home cooked food of the villagers. The food includes Rajma, Kadhi, Red Rice, Chutni and a local dish called ‘SIDDHU’. After tasting this delicious dish, we hit the road again in direction of Bijli Mahadev, one of the most sacred temples of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of about 2,460m and from the temple, a panoramic view of Kullu and Paravati valleys can be seen. The name comes from the fact that, the lightening (Bijli) strikes the Shiva linga (Mahadev) inside the temple and breaks it into pieces. The priest of the temple collects all the pieces and joins them together with the help of a local butter acting as an adhesive.

Day 3rd: Manali – Chandratal Lake

We take the road in direction of the next mother’s nature masterpiece! Chandratal Lake or “Moon Lake” is a breathtaking place situated at a height of 4300 m. The sweet water lake is around 2.5 km wide. It can be visited only during the three summer months. For the rest of the season, the lake remains cut off and frozen. This lake, changing colour with the colour of the sky, is surround by Chandra Bhaga mountain range which forms the perfect backdrop. This magic view will take your breath away.

Day 4th: Chandratal Lake – Kaza

Gear up for the ride to Kaza, capital and regional headquarters of Spiti valley. With freckles of green over a dry, weather-beaten face, Spiti is a cold desert where the monsoon rain never comes. It is characterized by stark beauty, narrow valleys and high mountains. A century ago, Rudyard Kipling in Kim called Spiti “a world within a world” and a “place where the gods live” – a description that holds true to the present day.

Day 5th: Kaza – Kibber – Komic – Kaza

From Kaza, we’ll start riding to Kibber, the highest village of Asia. On the way, we’ll stop to “Key Monastery”, the largest monastery and most colorful in Spiti Valley. Established in the 11th century, the monastery has ancient Buddhist scrolls and paintings. Before reaching our next destination, we’ll make a halt in Langza village where we’ll climb to the large and colorfull Buddha statue overlooking Spiti valley and nicely contrasting with the dark brown mountains and stark blue sky. We follow our route towards Kibber. Located at an altitude of 4300m, Kibber has only 80 houses and plenty of cultivation that contrasts sharply with the arid backdrop of lofty hills. We take the road again in direction of Komic where, if we are lucky, we’ll be able to find some fossils near the streams flowing from the mountains. After our archeological excavations, back to Kaza.

Day 6th: Kaza –Djankar -Mud

Gear up for the ride to Dhankar monastery, Dhankar Gompa is a village and also a Gompa, a Buddhist temple in the district of Lahaul and Spiti in India. It is situated at an elevation of 3,894 metres (12,774 feet) in the Spiti Valley above Dhankar Village, between the towns of Kaza and Tabo. After we ride towards Mud village, a town located in Pin valley, Steeped in historical and present day Buddhist Tibetan culture, the area has many Tibetan Buddhist influences, evident architecturally in monasteries and stupas, and in the daily living of its residents and lamas.

Pin Valley National Park was established by India in 1987.

Day 7th: Mud – Tabo

Ride to Tabo. On the route an amazing change of scenery awaits you. From the greenery of the scenic valleys, you’ll move to the stark magnificence of the high cold desert. Founded in 996 CE, the village looks like it hasn’t change in hundred of years. On the programme, visit of the old temples, founded in the 10th -11th century with fine sculptures and frescoes. Tabo and visit of one of the most important Buddhist monasteries of the region. Founded in 996 CE, Tabo is the largest monastic complex of Spiti and has been declared a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India. It is here that the 14th Dalai Lama held the Kalachakra ceremonies in 1983 and 1996.

   Day 8th: Tabo – Kalpa

We take the road towards Kalpa, one of the biggest and beautiful villages of Kinnaur. Situated at the height of 2758 m above the sea level and 110 km from Sarahan, Kalpa is the main village of Kinnaur. Across the river faces the majestic mountains of the Kinner Kailash range. These are spectacular sights early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and golden light.

Day 9th: Kalpa – Raksham –Chitkul

Head to Chitkul through the beautiful Sangla valley surrounded by thick forests, apple orchards, rushing waters and towering Himalayan ranges. Chitkul is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border and is renowned for its houses with either slate or wooden plank roofs, a Buddhist temple and a small tower.

Day 10th: Sangla Valley – Sarahan

We follow our route in direction of Saharan, the gate way to Kinnaur. Known as the land of fairy tales and fantasies, Kinnaur has a spectacular terrain of lush green valley, orchards, vineyards, snow clad peaks and cold desert mountains. Kinnaur is extremely rich in flora & fauna and the culture and language is different from other parts of the state. Criss-crossing one of the most picturesque valley of the region, we follow  the road to Sarahan which composes pictures of pastoral perfection, as the apple orchards gardens of rare medicinal herbs, a variety of wild flowers and fields surround the small hamlets with their slate roofed houses. A visit of Bhimakali temple is planned. The temples’ unusual architecture and wealth of carvings, have made it a resplendent example of pahari hill style.

Day 11th: Sarahan – Banjar

We begin our motorcycle trip in direction of Banjar Valley. Also known as the “Valley of Tranquility”, Banjar is noted for the splendid scenery, sparkling streams, lakes, meadows, thick forest, and high mountain ranges. Its beauty and its majestic hills covered with Pine and Deodar Forest and sprawling Apple Orchards will make you feel like in a veritable heaven upon earth.

Day 12th: Banjar –Manali.

Day 13th: Manali- Departure

End of the tour. In the morning, you are free to do some shopping for the family and friends. Shawls, Tweed jackets, costume jewelry, Tibetan handicrafts are the local arts and crafts that you can find easily in Manali and for a reasonable price. After lunch, a transfer to the New Delhi airport or Manali bus station will be organized by our team as per your schedule.

ASSOCIATION

TERMS& CONDITIONS

1.  Online Booking

  • A deposit of 50% of the total estimated bill is required to hold the booking on a confirm basis at least 90 days before the tour starts.

2. Security deposit

  • Refundable if there is no damage on the bike.
  • Required deposit: Rs. 10000/- per bike & one original ID proof.

3. Cancellation and refunds

  • 40% of the total estimated bill is refundable until 30 days before the tour starts.
  • Above the stipulated time, 20% will be reimbursed.

4. Responsibility of the applicant

  • The company is not responsible in case of physical or fatal injuries.
  • The company is not responsible for the bikes damages. If the body, clutch plates or riding gears are damaged because of rough riding the applicant will be charged.

5. Trip extension

  • If unforeseen circumstances necessitate a trip extension or if the participants decide to extend the motorbike tour, additional costs will be charged to them.

6. Unexpected disruptions

  • We organise guided motorcycle tours in some of the wildest areas on earth, accordingly the weather and environment can be unstable especially in the Himalayas.
  • We are not responsible for changes in the itinerary or program that are a result of roadblocks, landslides, monsoon, heavy rain or snow fall, unforeseen circumstances and any natural crisis.

7.  Number of participants

  • The cost is calculated with 10 riders, under/above this number, the package cost might increase/Decrease.
